About

I'm Sergi, from Argentona.

I studied Business and Marketing at TecnoCampus in Mataró. For three years I led marketing for TecnoCampus MotorSports, the university's Formula Student team, where I learned that a brand is won or lost in the details.

I work alone and only make two mock-ups a week, so each one gets the time it needs. When you write, I'm the one who answers.

I speak Catalan, Spanish and English.

Why Portalada.

The Maresme is full of great businesses with websites that don't do them justice: slow, dated or unreadable on a phone. People who find them on Google come away with a worse idea of what they are. I started Portalada so the first impression lives up to the business.

A portalada is the stone entrance of a Catalan farmhouse: the first thing visitors see, and what tells them where they're stepping in. That's where the package names come from: Finestra (window), Porta (door) and Masia (farmhouse).

How I think about a website.

Before it's design, a website is a tool to win customers. That's why I think about it in this order.

  1. 1What visitors need to doCall, book or ask for a quote. The whole page leads there, and the button is always in view.
  2. 2How people find youThe words your customers search for, one page per service and your Google listing up to date.
  3. 3How it looksYour colours and your photos, no generic templates. The design should make people trust you.

Where I work.

I'm from Argentona and work with businesses in the Maresme and Barcelona. In the Maresme, if you like, we can have the first call at your business: that way I see how you work and what your customers see when they walk in.

If you're further away, we do it by phone. I send you the mock-up as a link either way, and you can view it on your phone and computer.
